It is advised that tests are done in the morning as if you are positive, viral load will be higher first thing in the morning, so therefore more likely to pick up any potential positive cases.
Once you have performed the test a few times, you will find that it only takes a few minutes of ‘hands-on time’ to perform the test, and that it is not difficult to do.
What if I can’t do the test in the morning?
We would prefer that tests are done in the morning for the reasons mentioned above.
If this isn’t possible, then we would accept that you do it in the evening as the most important fact is that you are taking the test.
If you choose to do the test in the evening and have a positive result, you can still call the clinical helpline on (01481 220001 or 01481 220002) or complete the online form at https://www.gov.gg/covidnotification
