I run a roofing company and I have jobs still to finish, what should I do?

From 11th February, lone workers who are not considered essential workers may return to their place of work if:

  • They are the only person present on the premises; and
  • They have no physical contact with colleagues, customers or clients.

If you cannot comply with the above, then only essential emergency work can be undertaken. The works may be carried out by plumbers, electricians, roofers, scaffolders and all others (repair and maintenance personnel) who reasonably and necessarily provide essential emergency home building repair and maintenance services.

Repair and maintenance personnel should adopt practices designed to minimise risks to health wherever possible and practical. This includes maintaining social distance of at least 2 metres and adhering to hygiene guidelines. It is also strongly advised that face coverings are worn.
