Travel information for those who are not ordinarily resident

The Bailiwick of Guernsey is currently in lockdown. For more information on what this means, please go to: https://covid19.gov.gg/guidance/business/lockdownupdate

Only essential travel into the Bailiwick can take place. Those planning on travelling will need to apply for an Essential Travel Permit.

If your application is successful you will need to create a Travel Tracker account and register your journey one or two days before travelling into the Bailiwick. The only exemption to this is intra-Bailiwick flights. For more information please go to: https://covid19.gov.gg/guidance/travel/traveltracker

If you are leaving the Bailiwick and do not intend to return, an Essential Travel Permit is not required.

People that are not ordinarily resident in the Bailiwick can only travel for the following reasons and will need to apply for the relevant permit before travelling: 

  • Compassionate reasons, including fulfilling a legal obligation,
  • To become a new resident, 
  • As a critical worker
