Our Stories

There is no doubt that COVID-19 has had a huge impact on every single one of us, in more ways than one. During this time, we’ve been learning about some of your personal experiences and family stories. These are stories of hope, resilience and inspiration which is something that we all need during these incredibly difficult times.

We’re honoured that some of you are willing to share your stories with us, as it gives us the opportunity to then share these with the community in the hope of supporting one of our key messages: You are not alone. We’ve got this.

When we watch the news, especially during the coronavirus pandemic, we can sometimes feel desensitised to everything that is happening around us, and we find it easier to relate to things happening a lot closer to home.

What some of us have gone through – and still go through – undoubtedly shows that this is all very real and that these tough times are felt not only by us, but our friends, family members, colleagues and fellow islanders too. But, what this is also shows is that we’re capable of anything, especially when we do it together.

It's not until we look back that we realise how far we've come.

Thank you to those who have taken the time to give us an insight into their lives during lockdown.
